- Six new picnic clusters are being built at Opal Beach (Santa Rosa Day Use Area before Hurricane Opal in 1995). Each cluster will include picnic tables under a shelter, restrooms, outdoor showers, a walkway to the beach and wayside exhibits. All facilities are accessible to wheelchairs. Five picnic clusters will also be located on the gulf side and one picnic cluster on the sound side. - A $6 entry fee (good for 7 days) will be collected at the entrance station located at Opal Beach for the gulf side facilities.
