II shall return, count on it.

I was stationed at Homestead Air Force Base, located some 20 mile south of Miami, from 1958 to 1959 spending much of my free time at Crandon Park. It was considerably less populated at that time but upon returning in 1996 I found it just as accomidating as in the old days.

very different beach!

Directions

From the south, take U.S.1 north and exit right to Rickenbacker Causeway (last exit before U.S.1 becomes I-95 north). From the north, take I-95 south to exit for Key Biscayne/Rickenbacker Causeway. Follow signs to Causeway which requires $1 toll. After crossing causeway, you'll see sign for Crandon Park. Take left turn to South Beach lot. After you pass through the toll booth, go to the far right of the parking area for the amusement center.
