Horrible, horrible experience
Stayed here in 2004 and really enjoyed it. So after trying other hotels for the past two years, we decided to go back to Sandy Point. HUGE & HORRENDOUS MISTAKE!!!!!! This was the worst vacation I’ve ever had: from check-in to check-out. Upon check-in we were greeted by a receptionist with a really bad attitude (Ms. Bacchus) who informed us, rather disdainfully, that one of the apartments was still being cleaned (even though we checked-in over an hour later than their check-in time of 1pm). We were given two shoddy, run down apartments that could not accommodate all of us. I informed them that these were not the apartments that I'd reserved and was then told by the receptionist, who looked at me scornfully over her glasses, that there was nothing she could do, except advise me to check-out. Splendid idea!!! By this time it was already after 5pm and there were 9 of us, 4 of which were children and 1 teenager. What was I supposed to do at that late hour? We were all tired and hungry by then. I thought that maybe we were being treated this ... pekleo, a user of Tripadvisor. Read full review on tripadvisor

Poor Service
During my vacation time, my husband and i (Trinis) decided to spend some time in Tobago. We've stayed at different places here before (mainly guest houses), and haven't had much or any reason to complain about our stay at those places. We decided to stay at Sandy Point Village this time. Firstly, to book our flight, I called Caribbean Airlines. The customer service experience on that phone call was absolutely magnificent. I then called the Sandy Point Village and the contrast was soon noted. I spoke with one of the receptionists (Avanelle) who seemed to be new or something because she kept putting me on hold everytime i asked a question. That was the next thing. I felt as though I should have been sitting at the reception desk because I was asking all the questions. Information ... Spees, a user of Tripadvisor. Read full review on tripadvisor

Overall, a good choice of base with a great beach bar next door!
This place has had a mixed bag of reviews. This is what I thought... First impression of the acommodation was spoilt by an array of shabby details that anyone being averagely houseproud on maintenance would not fail to notice (I would have squirted all the wobbly lime-scaled taps with viakal if I'd had any - How sad is that!). I think I was a bit mislead about the accomodation I had booked. I was certain that during a telephone conversation it was explained there would be two queen size beds in a first floor bedroom and a double bed in a further downstairs bedroom? We soon discovered that in the two storey units there is no such thing as a ground floor bedroom, it's an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner( where sofas could be pushed together?). The upstairs is via an open plan staircase to a galleried ... aravisthecat, a user of Tripadvisor. Read full review on tripadvisor
