In Sunny
San Diego, California, enjoying the beach is a way of life! The City’s on-line Travel Resource notes that
Coronado Beach is the crown jewels of San Diego’s beachfront
choices. Coronado
Beach is listed in the Top Ten Beaches, nation-wide, offering on-site
restrooms and showers, fire pits, lifeguards in season, and spectacular sunsets
each evening! You’ll be able to catch a
glimpse of Navy SEALS running along the scenic stretches of sand. There’s even a Dog Beach
on the north end of Oakland
Boulevard, allowing dogs off-leash to romp with
their owners!
Silver Strand
State Beach is highly rated by San
Diego beach-goers.
Water-skiing, shell-hunting, swimming, surfing, fishing, and volleyball
are the San Diego Beach Activities available at Silver Strand. This State Beach
offers the only opportunity for camping; however, your camper must be fully
self-contained for overnight lodging.
Life-guards, fire pits, restroom and shower facilities, and barbeque
pits are available for public use.
Silver Strand has four huge parking
lots, with convenient tunnel access, under the highway.
San Diego’s Mission
Beach has year-around lifeguard staffing on duty all day. Mission
Beach offers shops,
restaurants, a long boardwalk, and beach rental facilities, with a nearby amusement
center. Be sure to visit Belmont Park’s landmark Giant
Dipper Roller Coaster, San Diego’s
most recognizable attraction. Originally
built in 1925, it’s recently restored and renovated.
